Liberty Savings Bank, FSB, a mutual savings bank, was established in September 1926. The corporate name at the time was Liberty Savings and Loan of Whiting, Indiana. Liberty's objectives then - and now - are to encourage investment of savings and to provide home ownership to the surrounding communities in Northwest Indiana.

To better serve this area and succeed at our objectives, our branch office in Schererville, Indiana was opened in 1975 and complete remodeling of this office was completed in 1999.

As a smaller bank, Liberty Savings has had an excellent reputation for being a leading provider of home lending services. You will always know whom you are dealing with and a 'real' person will be available to answer your question, whether it is about our deposit/checking products or loan products. We take pride in knowing the majority of our customers by name and servicing their needs in person. In keeping with maintaining this personal service, we are one of the few financial institutions to close AND service all of our loans. Because of this service, your closing fees are lower. We are attempting to move forward with technological advancements. This began with installation of 24-hour automatic teller machines (ATM) at both offices. You are now able to have direct deposit of all types of payrolls, social security payments, and pension payments. Direct payments from your checking can be made to pay your monthly utility bills and loan payments. These services are free to you. These advancements enable us to handle your accounts and transaction efficiently - but this does not mean that you are not welcome to stop in and visit us in person AT NO CHARGE!!
